Photography like any business will take a lot of work.Even if you enjoy doing it there are still a lot of work involved.Things like getting some people to hire you can be very hard to do at first. But like any business if you do the right things you can succeed.That is why in this article we would be tackling some ways on how you can get your first customers.
One event that can be very big for your first job is a wedding. Obviously this is a big job because of the responsibility of capturing those memories forever. As a San Diego wedding photographer the best way to get your first job is to network. People are getting married all the time.And there are many people out there who knows someone who will get married.If you would just speak up about the job that you do then you can get the first photography job you are looking for in no time.Most of the time the first gig you will get is through a referral.
The next big type of job is to do some corporate work for some big companies.This job is very hard to land because hirers usually want an experienced one to do this kind of job. As a San Diego commercial photographer the way I got my first job was to look for smaller companies. Smaller companies usually have smaller budgets so they might not be able to afford more expensive photographers. This is the reason they may be willing to give you a chance.
Finally there are other events or portrait types of jobs that you can still take. There are always big events happening. As a San Diego event photography service I got my foot wet by taking photos of events. This was doing it for no pay but to build up my portfolio.And these portfolio would serve as my way to getting some customers because this would be the way to impress them.
